Mo doesn't know what to do with Mykel. He's new to the future he's living in and doesn't understand half of what people tell him, let alone show him. When Mykel insists that they are mates, Mo's set to run in the other direction.

Mykel knows Mo is his mate the second he lays eyes on the sexy human. He packs up everything he owns and leaves his family to join his mate on board the Lady Blue. Life would be perfect if only his mate would accept him.

Trouble follows the crew of the Lady Blue crew with every turn, and Mo and Mykel are no exception. When plans backfire and go wrong, saving each other just might be easier than admitting that they belong together. But the past won't be forgotten, and when Mo goes on a wild mission doomed to failure, Mykel races to his rescue, refusing to give up on the one man that makes him feel whole. Now, it's just a matter of saving Mo from himself.

What Once Was Lost (Lady Blue Crew, #7) by Stormy Glenn and Lynn Hagen

This volume is in many ways a very nice summary of what has happened, pulling quite a few of the threads from previous stories together. The focus was on a new couple, one of the funniest combinations yet, but there was more than the usual amount of overarching story. I really liked that because it brought the ‘behind the scenes’ stuff that had occasionally turned up during the other books to a simmer. Now that the plot has thickened, so to speak, I am looking forward to any further developments even more.

Mo is a human from ‘old Earth’, and is having a hard time adjusting to the future. It takes him a while to figure things out, and he has the funniest miscommunications and misunderstandings, but he slowly carves out a place among the crew. His mate, Mykel, has a lot to do with that, but Mo cannot truly settle down until he gets over a loss from the past.

Mykel is the only law abiding member of the crew – at first. The others soon corrupt him, or try to, but there are certain things he will not compromise on. Like his mate’s safety or happiness. The two may fight like champions, but the make-up sex is more than worth it.

On the whole, this felt like a transitional book. All the original crew members are mated, but there are a few ‘associated’ people still looking for happiness. I hope the preview as to who might be the next couple was accurate; if so, the next book promises to be even more explosive! If you like space adventures, crews that stand by each other even if they have their differences about the small stuff, and if you’re looking for hot man-on-shifter action, you may like this book.
